    If you enjoy working with team members whose defining characteristics are achievement, initiative, professionalism, responsiveness and adaptability, you may be the person we are seeking to join our Marketing and Business Development department, in Chicago, as a Marketing Assistant.

     Responsibilities:

    • Support the work of the transactions marketing and business development team based in Chicago, New York, and other U.S. offices as needed
    • Assist with the compilation of data and production of documentation for both formal and informal proposals and RFP’S
    • Assist with background research on prospective company clients and competitors, liaising with the library and other marketing and business development team members as required
    • Respond to lawyer requests for marketing related information and products, e.g., marketing collateral, documents, client gifts, and deal / case lists
    • Assist with the collection of data and preparation of submissions to legal directories and other external publishers of league tables
    • Update internal records, database systems and intranet for department, practice groups and partners as appropriate
    • Support the practice groups' marketing events activities, liaising with the practice groups and the events team as necessary
    • Provide administrative assistance and project manage other ad-hoc activities for the marketing and business development team as needed
    • Input and monitor Chrome River expense reports for marketing and business development team
    • Coordinate travel arrangements for team members as needed

    Qualifications

    • An undergraduate degree, preferably in a marketing, business, research, or communications-related field
    • 0 - 2 years experience in a Law firm or other professional services environment  
    • Proficient with Windows, MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
    • Prior CRM database experience is highly preferred
    • Knowledge of on-line and electronic newswire services, media tracking and Internet research resources, and website marketing
    • Proficient and accurate typing skills needed to accomplish the clerical aspects of the position
    • Ability to research various topics as necessary
    • Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills and an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
    • Strong oral and written communication skills, must be resourceful, self-directed and client-focused
    • Strong interest and ability to work as a member of an interdependent team and the ability to make informed judgments and decisions as needed
    • Motivated to maintain open communications with management and other members of the marketing and business development team
    • Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs
