    If you enjoy working with team members whose defining characteristics are achievement, initiative, professionalism, responsiveness and adaptability, you may be the person we are seeking to join our Real Estate Practice Area, in Chicago, as a Real Estate Paralegal.




    • Draft documents for commercial sales/lease deals which include escrow instructions, estoppel certificates, tenant notices, requests for consent, corporate authority documents, UCC statements and attachments
    • Obtain water certificates and building registrations from the city of Chicago and bulk sales affidavits
    • Determine whether transfer taxes apply and, if so, obtain necessary forms
    • Order and review title/survey documents
    • Review leases
    • Participate in closings (ranging from small single site closings to large multi-site, multi-state closings)
    • Participate in/assist with managing due diligence document reviews
    • Record mortgages and other documents
    • File UCC statements, coordinate post-closing distributions and other post-closing work


    • BA degree required
    • Paralegal certificate from ABA approved paralegal program is a plus
    • 4+ years experience as a Real Estate Paralegal
    • Knowledge of MS Word 2007 required
    • Knowledge of CT, xpedite or similar computer sites/systems for the preparation of UCC fixture filing forms preferred
    • Flexible to work overtime and travel as needed
    • Detail-oriented and able to work under deadline pressure
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Able to prioritize work and possess strong problem-solving skills
    • Able to work independently and handle many tasks simultaneously
    • Must be team oriented
    • Strong communicate skills, both orally and in writing
    • Moderate lifting of boxes, up to 30 lbs.
