    The Billing Operations Administrator represents the Accounting Department and works as a key member of the billing team. This position will assume responsibility as the key lead for an assigned billing team. In this role, the Administrator will ensure billing compliance, billing analysis and customer service for the team. Additionally, will provide full service billing to partners and manage the performance and productivity of the staff on the team.


    • Lead staff of 8-10 Billing Analysts. Coordinate staff's paid time off; engage in regular performance coaching; conduct annual performance reviews; recruit, interview and hire with oversight from the Supervisor
    • Ensure high-level productivity of staff members by coordinating workflow, assignments, and cross training
    • Review and understand the timing and content of client fee agreements; ensure compliance with Billing Guidelines; perform all functions of the Billing Analyst
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues on rejections, reductions and other billing complexities
    • Perform tasks for matter maintenance; work directly with partners, acting in an advisory role; lead billing initiatives, teams, and special projects
    • Understand the impact of billing transactions to realization and financial reports and be able to explain concepts to the team developing a deeper understanding of the billing process
    • Facilitate training for all US offices; document and deliver billing related information. Contribute to the improvement of process flow
    • Ensure ethical and accounting standards are met; ensure billing compliance and proper management of fee agreements for clients
    • Must be able to work independently with little supervision to research and resolve issues
    • The Billing Operations Administrator is expected to be fully available during peak or critical periods and may need to work additional hours as needed


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, finance, or general business or comparable experience required
    • Must have law firm accounting, billing, and eBilling experience
    • 3-5 years previous experience in Accounting
    • Prior supervisory experience highly preferred
    • Must be technically proficient and highly analytical
    • Microsoft Office Applications proficiency required; Aderant Expert and eBilling Hub is a plus
    • Strong communication and leadership skills
    • Understanding of General Ledger and Financial Reporting
    • Possess ability to lead large-scale projects and teams
    • A demonstrated self-starter with the desire to show ownership and commitment to the job
    • Solid people management skills necessary and ability to influence collaboration among staff
    • Light lifting; up to 25 lbs
