The Global HRIS Analyst II is responsible for the analysis, development, implementation, support and maintenance of PeopleSoft HCM as well as other HR applications at Mayer Brown. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying new and modified PeopleSoft HCM applications using PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR’s and Workflow along with integration and configuration of other HR applications in our portfolio.


  • Development and maintenance of inbound and outbound interfaces between PeopleSoft, the firm’s legacy systems and third-party systems
  • Develop custom reports utilizing XML, SQR and File Layout with Application Engine
  • Provide Level II and Level III functional application trouble shooting including identifying root causes of application errors and data discrepancies and subsequent remediation 

  • Translate functional requirements into software application designs and implement those designs; perform application development
  • Thoroughly test all work prior to moving to Quality Assurance / Quality Control environment
  • Participate in the analysis of business enhancement requirements for the purpose of clarifying requirements
  • Troubleshoot PeopleTools 8.5x and above, integration broker, messaging and gateway related issues
  • Implement tools, processes and procedures using IT Operations standards to accommodate Change Management controls to constantly improve quality and delivery
  • Perform code review with team members and work with Project Lead and/or Team Lead to develop quality and procedural processes
  • Assist the management team with evaluating and ultimately implementing third-party vendor application packages
  • Work with IT team members and manager to efficiently coordinate day-to-day activities, development and implementations
  • Initiate actions and alternatives to avoid potential problem situations before they occur and /or increase the probability of desired outcomes
  • Track and review upgrade releases for PeopleSoft HCM and other HR applications in the Mayer Brown portfolio to determine needs and system impacts
  • Create, assign, track, and resolve issues using standard Service Desk tracking software, process and procedures


  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business or related field, or 5+ years of experience in a corporate IS environment highly preferred
  • 5+ years supporting PeopleSoft Human Capital Module (HCM) in a global environment
  • 5+ years developing with PeopleTools, SQR and People Code
  • PeopleSoft v9.x experience preferred
  • PeopleTools Developer Certified preferred
  • Experience with multiple payroll interfaces by global region
  • Must have experience with large-scale PeopleSoft implementations and upgrades
  • Thorough understanding of Application Engine, SQL, Component Interface, SQR, Crystal, Application Designer, Trace and other development tools
  • Experience working with the PeopleSoft security model including the set up and analysis of roles and permissions
  • Competency in software development life cycle, methods, tools and practices
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Highly experienced troubleshooting PeopleSoft HCM issues
  • Experience in a Professional Services Partnership environment
